Happy Thursday, y’all! Although I can see that it is not even remotely sunny or spring-like as I am writing this, I am bringing the spring colors and florals to you. A couple of weeks ago, I got the opportunity to photograph one of the loveliest and newest residents of South Georgia!
She was a dream to photograph – a truly gorgeous baby with the prettiest strawberry blonde hair and she slept like a college student crashing after studying for finals (read that as a great sleeper). But before I get too detailed, let me introduce this sweet little butterbean to you!
Miss Landree Saeth Averill
born March 30, 2016 at 8:13am
weighing 9lbs, 5.9oz
21.5 inches long
I seriously love learning where people get the names for their littles – whether it is heirloom names that you pass down through the family tree, names that stem from your heritage, or just names you and your spouse can *finally* agree on. Landree’s middle name, Saeth, is Welsh and means “arrow.” According to her moma, they have Welsh ancestry so it’s a perfect choice. and I just love how beautiful and unique it is.
This session was a little wild and crazy in the best way possible. Not only were Landree’s parents in the SamiM Studio, so were her older siblings. Kincee, age 5, was as cute as can be. She wanted to help me with everything and I made her the official SamiM Photography assistant for the session. She even took a couple photos. She was chatty, fun, and definitely made the session go by faster. As long as my littlest clients are snoozing and happy as can be, I definitely love interacting with the siblings. Who knows, maybe she will be a photographer in 10-15 years! 🙂 It is kind of cool to think that something as little as letting her help me could have influenced her career path. For some reason, I think she liked me though because I got asked to have a coveted sleep-over with her.
Little Jacob, who is 1, took a bit more to warm up to me. He was definitely being a daddy’s boy but in the end, I prevailed and got some gummy smiles from that little tot. I call it a definite win when three children varying in ages from newborn to 5 can be wrangled into a picture.
Please sit awhile and enjoy this spring floral session full of bold colors, precious siblings, and the sweetest baby girl. I can’t wait to spend the rest of Landree’s first year with her!

I love that Landree got to wear the same outfit that she left the hospital in. Also, it is beautifully monogrammed and it’s a fact that southerner’s love those monograms.
As always, feel free to leave a comment with any questions you may have!
xx,
Sami
